After seeing some images from Hallin Fell in a book, I had decided to head out very early on the 4th of April with the intention of capturing the Sunrise . With just over an hour drive this would be a bit of a gamble with the weather and hoping it would be kind to me .
My alarm was set for 03:50 , I had prepared everything the night before , so bleary eyed I picked up my kit and my sleepy dog .
The sky was beginning to lighten quite a bit whilst still onm the M6 and a little panic set in that I would miss the Sunrise altogether ! After parking next to the church at Martindale I climbed the short but steep path to the summit .
The weather was pretty much perfect and the views were amazing . The 2 images above are looking North up Ullswater as the sun rose over Arthur's Pike and Bonscale Pike . I then turned around to shoot looking down Howe Grain and Boredale .

I hope to return to Hallin Fell several times this year to capture the changing seasons .
